About Us

Buckeye Mechanical has been executing complex commercial and industrial mechanical projects across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia for more than 40 years.

Our Company

Buckeye Mechanical’s president, Bobby Hickle, a third generation pipefitter, has built Buckeye Mechanical on a foundation of expertise, integrity, and pride in a job done right. We honor that legacy by exceeding expectations and building lasting relationships with every customer.

Since 1984, we’ve grown from a local mechanical contractor into a multi-state industrial services operation serving oil and gas facilities, steel mills, food and beverage processing plants, hospitals, and schools across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. In just four years, Buckeye Mechanical Contracting has tripled in size. That kind of growth doesn’t come from taking shortcuts—it comes from earning trust. Our clients continue to choose us because we deliver quality workmanship, prioritize safety, and stand behind every project with uncompromising integrity.

Built on the Work, Not the Pitch

Buckeye’s mission is straightforward: Buckeye Mechanical Contracting’s mission is to deliver exceptional mechanical solutions through quality workmanship, uncompromising integrity, and safety without compromise. Built by three generations of pipefitters, we earn our customers’ trust by doing the job right the first time, building lasting partnerships, and creating value that stands the test of time.

Forty Years Without Leaving

Buckeye Mechanical was founded in Bloomingdale, Ohio, in 1984. Bobby Hickle started as a pipefitter, the same way most of Buckeye’s best people do. Today, as President, he leads a company that’s tripled in size over the last four years while holding to the same self-perform, single-contractor model that built its reputation. The people who built this company are still here. So is the work ethic they brought with them.

Held to the Highest Standards in Every State We Work

Buckeye is active on ISNetworld and Veriforce, which means our safety record is visible and auditable by the largest industrial operators in the region. Every Buckeye technician is OSHA 10 compliant upon hire. We run daily job site analysis before work begins, conduct monthly field inspections, and enforce a zero-tolerance drug policy through the Nursing Corps. Our safety standards don’t vary by project size or client type.

Case Study: Honest HVAC-R Work Turned a Single Job Into an Annual Contract

Buckeye doesn’t win long-term contracts by promising the lowest number. We win them by showing up with honest assessments, qualified crews, and work that holds up.

Problem

Williams Kensington, an oil and gas operation, needed a mechanical contractor who could handle their HVAC-R systems professionally and within budget. Their previous provider’s approach to major mechanical issues had fallen short of expectations, leaving gaps in quality and reliability they couldn’t afford to carry.

Solution

Buckeye assessed the full scope of Williams Kensington’s HVAC-R needs and presented honest options that proved cost-effective across their annual budget. Where the previous contractor had cut corners, Buckeye delivered transparent recommendations and executed the work to the standard the facility required.

Results

Williams Kensington awarded Buckeye an annual mechanical services contract and solidified the relationship for all future work. That contract has since expanded beyond the original HVAC-R scope. It’s the kind of relationship Buckeye builds when the work is done right the first time.

What We Stand For

Buckeye’s values have guided every job we’ve taken since 1984. They’re not posted on a wall. They’re reflected in the work.

Our Team

Buckeye’s leadership team built their careers in the trades before stepping into management roles. Most have spent the majority of their professional lives at Buckeye, which means they understand the work from the ground up. That tenure carries through to how projects are managed, how clients are served, and how the company holds itself accountable. When you work with Buckeye, you’re working with people who have spent decades earning the reputation they’re now responsible for protecting.
